Blessings of In-Laws

Blessings of In-Laws

I have two different perspectives on in-laws... one point of view is when someone was entering my family as an in-law, and point two when I was entering someone else’s family as an in-law.

While I was serving my mission, both of my brothers got married. I didn’t know either girl, so I was nervous to come home to a whole new family. Within the day, I loved them. My brothers couldn’t have done better. Through that experience I understood how precious theses relationships are. Especially since they have had kids, and I get to be part of their lives, our relationship deepens. I see what incredible Mothers they are who work tirelessly to take care of their kids. I did learn that some relationships come easier than others. With one of my sister in laws our relationship clicked instantly, we have always been close and stay in constant contact. My other sister-in-law and I had a little bit more of a challenge (it was more miscommunication) but we really worked on it, making goals to text and stay connected and it has totally healed our relationship now. That taught me the importance of every family member, and how we have to have relationships with each one of them, even if it takes more effort.

The family I married into is AMAZING!!! I honestly am in awww with what amazing people they are. Each person has great strengths. I look up to them because they are so much of what I want to become. The lord certainly blessed me with in-laws that are examples in disciple-ship, parenting, and friends. I think that’s the beauty of in-laws,  you get to discover a depth to people that you wouldn't other wise. Whenever I get to spend time with them it is a treat, to me it’s like a miny Education Week.

I am so grateful for my eternal family. I love God’s plan and am excited that I get to be with these wonderful people for all eternity. Through effort and love, I have learned the blessings of in-laws.
